I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I currently work and live here.

My work is strongly influenced by my graduation as architect and urbanist (FAU/UFRJ, 2003).
In these early days at the Federal University of Rio, I discovered the debates about “space” in its several points of view (“place”, “lived space”, “cartography”, “unitary urbanism”, “psychogeography”, “magnetized space”, etc.).

In the early 2000s another strong interest began to walk with me: digital media, non linear narratives, internet and cyberspace.

I hold a master’s degree in Communications and Culture (ECO / UFRJ, 2006) and a Ph.D. in Urban Planning (PROURB / UFRJ, 2011). Always studying this objet (space/digital/culture), for me it was more exciting (and a challenge) to sweep from field do field and work with different theoretical and technical tools.

From 2001 to 2009 I had, together with Ivan Henriques and Rodrigo Amim, the group KuarasyOberab. We made electronic live music exploring the particular sounds of each place where we were playing and its acoustics. Some places we had been presenting our work are Plano B, MAC/Niteroi, Castelinho do Flamengo and Telemar Cultural Center.

Some of my works are: EBA Aumentada (2014), Cabeção (2012), the Cronologia do Pensamento Urbanístico (2003, now maintained by the FAU/UFBA) and Derive (interactive “map” video, 2005). In 2012 my master’s research has been published as a book (“Loop: technology and repetition in art”).

I am professor and researcher at School of Fine Arts, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I am currently working on decolonialisation of technologies, looking for alternatives ways of mixing affections, technics and self knowledge. I strongly believe that conscious individuals, aware of the different and often conflicting aspects of each subjectivity, can reverberate in a better world.
